Biographical Information
 
Though she has always loved being a stay-at-home mom, about five years ago she realized she needed some respite from Veggie Tales, baby talk and dirty diapers. Myrna has always enjoyed telling stories so she started working, very part-time, as a freelance writer. Not only did she enjoy getting out of the house once in a while, Myrna discovered she really liked writing!

Now that her kids are in school, Myrna has more writing opportunities and family, travel and interesting people are her favorite subjects. Her articles and stories have been published in many regional and national magazines and in two books, Chicken Soup for the Mother of Preschooler’s Soul and Minnesota Memories 6. She’s also written a 150th history book about her church, The Christiania Story.

Myrna and her husband, Owen, are both pilots and the Mibus family lives at a residential airport near Webster, Minnesota. In addition to flying her 1955 Piper Pacer with her family, Myrna enjoys quilting, singing, gardening and reading. Education

College: University of St. Thomas
Major: English - writing emphasis. Graduated magna cum laude, 1996.

Post-Graduate: University of St. Thomas School of Education. Teaching Certificate in English, 1997.

Vocational: Hennepin Technical College. Certificate in Horse Care and Stable Operations, 1986.

• Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) What did Myrna do before she started writing? She taught school at the Carver Scott Educational Cooperative in their New Beginnings program, worked at Flying Cloud Airport dispatching rental charter airplanes, groomed horses, worked for a rodeo company, developed pictures in a one-hour photo shop and worked as a customer service representative for an industrial arts supply company - and a few other things to boot!
